There are critical windows of time in a puppy’s development that can set him or her up to be a confident, stable, happy and human/dog friendly canine citizen. At Friendsville® Animal Center that window of time is where we focus our training. Different from basic training (which is also important), the PuppyPreK curriculum focuses exclusively on socialization with multiple humans and dogs; exposure to cats; playing on different textures, terrains, surfaces, water and sounds; and, gaining balance in our sensory enrichment yards which includes stairs, tunnels, platforms, spindles, A-frames and tug toys. The 6-session program is open to healthy puppies 8-16* weeks old who have had at least one round of vaccinations, are dewormed and have some sort of identification tag/microchip. I’ve always wanted to work with animals, and after my husband and I married I was given the opportunity to start my dream career. I currently work at a Boarding Facility as a Dog Daycare Supervisor, where I’ve been trained in reading dog-dog and dog-human communication signals as well as dog first aid and handling dogs of all sizes/temperaments. I have five dogs of my own, ranging from working mixes to toy breeds, so I’m familiar with different breeds and their unique drives that can create discontent in the home if not given a proper outlet. I am in training to be a pet trainer at our local Petsmart store. I hope to be actively training in another 2 weeks. I am currently training under Adrianne Rice, the trainer at the store, but I have 2 weeks of training starting next week at the Petsmart in Brentwood , TN under the district trainer. I’m finally getting an opportunity to use my ABC Certification.

My goal is to provide you and your dog the tools to be able to carry out a fun and rewarding way of life. I do this by using POSITIVE reinforcements and showing you that where there is a will, there is away. Without force and painful techniques. I teach on all levels; puppy, basic, advanced, and also private sessions for behavior modifications. I also administer the AKC K-9 Good Citizen’s Award test. Hi, my name is Angela Roberts. I have been working within the dog world since I was 16 years old. My very first job was at a doggie daycare and boarding facility. Working with dogs has always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl in the 7th grade and got my first rescue dog named Ginger. A year and a half ago I decide that training dogs is what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. I have worked with many different breeds of dogs and rescue dogs. I have 5 rescues myself and each one came from very different backgrounds with different issues. I also help my parents run a doggie daycare and boarding facility.

Happy to work with all breeds. Will start with basic commands and help incorporate your new family member into the pack! I am also happy to offer sitting and dog walking services.
