RB Dog Training uses research based and positive reinforcement methods. The foundation of training is based on classical and operant conditioning. Each dog will have a training program tailored for their temperament and training needs, helping to provide and ensure structure and boundaries for your dog. About the trainer:My dog training experience started in college at Texas A&M University by raising a service dog puppy through Aggie Guide Dogs and Service Dogs. In May 2014, I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a minor in business administration. Following graduation I moved to Scottsdale, AZ to work as a service dog trainer at a ADI-accredited non-profit. I worked there for 3 years, training diabetic alert, mobility assistance, and PTSD service dogs, for both children and adults, which showed me how much a dog can transform a person’s life. In 2017 I moved to Atlanta, GA and worked for a private dog training facility called Comprehensive Pet Therapy, where I focused on training service and therapy dogs, in addition to providing private dog training lessons. I also specialized in teaching all levels of agility classes, a therapy dog class, beginner obedience, and CGC (Canine Good Citizens) class, working for 7 years as a trainer and 2 years as the office manager. I continued to work with service dogs at CPT, along with pets and therapy dogs. Beginning in 2022, I trained, studied, and tested to gain my dog training credentials as a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed). I have also been a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator since 2018. I currently compete in AKC agility competitions with both of my dogs, Savannah, a 6 year old Fox Red Labrador Retriever and Skyler, a 5 year old, Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Services offered:RB Dog Training offers both in-home private lessons or remote private lessons (parks, outdoor shopping areas, pet friendly stores, etc.). Both may be scheduled to provide scheduling flexibility to you and your dog, with locations selected depending on the training needs and methods. Areas of focus:Puppy manners: housebreaking, mouthiness, jumping, chewing All obedience levels: Puppy, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced/Off-leash CGC and Tricks certification Foundation agility Household manners problems: Housebreaking, Chewing, Barking, Jumping, Digging, Raiding trash, Stealing food, Stealing objects, Bolting, Getting on the furniture

There are critical windows of time in a puppy’s development that can set him or her up to be a confident, stable, happy and human/dog friendly canine citizen. At Friendsville® Animal Center that window of time is where we focus our training. Different from basic training (which is also important), the PuppyPreK curriculum focuses exclusively on socialization with multiple humans and dogs; exposure to cats; playing on different textures, terrains, surfaces, water and sounds; and, gaining balance in our sensory enrichment yards which includes stairs, tunnels, platforms, spindles, A-frames and tug toys. The 6-session program is open to healthy puppies 8-16* weeks old who have had at least one round of vaccinations, are dewormed and have some sort of identification tag/microchip. We believe the advantages of socializing young puppies far outweighs potential risks prior to the full vaccination schedule. (*Trainer approval required for older puppies.)

My name is Courtney Rose and I’m the owner and head trainer of Roses & Rovers Canine Consulting. I’m a rewards-based Professional Dog Trainer in Johnson City, TN and the surrounding East TN and SW Virginia areas. I use my professional experience alongside my education to guide my understanding of how dogs function in the modern world. I do not use force, intimidation, pain, threats or coercion in any of my training protocols. This means that I do not use aversive methods (such as prong collars, e-collars, citronella, leash corrections, etc.) in my training protocols, but instead use a force-free approach to training. I believe that all dogs have the right to exist in their natural states of mind and behavior. And I believe that dogs are not robots for humans to program, but rather canine partners with their own thoughts, feelings and desires. Because of that, I structure my training protocols with your dog’s success in mind. I am committed to the highest standards of the industry and work toward those goals with each client. I believe it is imperative to be transparent and honest when discussing behavior modification + training protocols for each client’s individual needs. I am here to support my clients in all aspects of their training journey. I believe there is always room for improvement and as such, I am committed to continuing to learn as reliable information is presented to the industry and to accommodate my methods as ethically as I can.

(2008), which focuses on training and pairing service dogs with individuals who require their assistance. Through these initiatives, she has rescued and rehomed countless dogs while also helping to shape the next generation of service dog partnerships. Katherine is also a passionate advocate for responsible vaccination protocols, holistic dog health, and community education. She frequently publishes articles, hosts workshops, and develops handouts and resources for pet owners, rescues, and students. When she’s not working with dogs, Katherine is deeply involved in local community projects, including the Greeneville Farmers Market, where she supports regional farmers, artisans, and small businesses. Her career is guided by a lifelong belief: with knowledge, compassion, and commitment, we can build stronger bonds between people and their dogs while fostering healthier, more resilient communities.

Based in Hohenwald, and serving the surrounding communities in TN, a certified dog trainer dedicated to the "No Fear, No Force, No Pain" +R philosophy. My journey began at age 18, intuitively training with empathy and respect long before becoming a professional. With a background as a veterinary technician and a degree in Radiography (Cum Laude, 1997), I bring a strong medical and scientific foundation to my work. After launching a successful pet-sitting business in 2003 and competing in dog agility, I formalized my expertise by studying under the renowned R+ expert Louise Stapleton-Frappell. Today, I use science-based positive reinforcement (R+) to help owners build deep, lasting bonds with their pets. In addition to local training, I proudly volunteer at the High Forest Humane Society.

Besides a lifetime of experience with a variety of her own animals, Kathi's more formal educational journey began with her Welsh Terrier puppy over 20 years ago. She agonized over how to rehabilitate the very reactive little dog she had already fallen in love with. She sought the help of some of the most respected animal behavior experts in the country, beginning with Veterinary Behaviorist and author Dr. Nicholas Dodman, Professor Section Head and Program Director of Clinical Science, Tufts University. It was later that she found Suzanne Clothier, author of "Bones Would Rain from the Sky: Deepening our Relationships with Dogs" who has become an inspirational mentor and an enormous influence on the way Kathi works with dogs. Suzanne taught Kathi the fine art of observing animals and building cross species communication skills. Kathi continues to educate herself by attending seminars, online classes, and workshops to keep up with any and all new ideas on how to work more effectively and more humanely with dogs and their people.

I’ve always wanted to work with animals, and after my husband and I married I was given the opportunity to start my dream career. I currently work at a Boarding Facility as a Dog Daycare Supervisor, where I’ve been trained in reading dog-dog and dog-human communication signals as well as dog first aid and handling dogs of all sizes/temperaments. I have five dogs of my own, ranging from working mixes to toy breeds, so I’m familiar with different breeds and their unique drives that can create discontent in the home if not given a proper outlet. My training style leans more towards teaching owners how to use enrichment and fun activities to deter unwanted behaviors rather than strictly training obedience in dogs, leading to dogs that are excited to engage with their owners in ways the owners are happy to oblige.
