Pet Logic was created to promote a positive, force free, & scientifically based approach to training companion animals & the people who care for them. Our mission is to "Strengthen the human/animal bond through education and training."Training is about communication & relationship. The goal should be to teach our animals how to live with us, as well as strengthen our relationship with them. They are not born understanding our language, rules, or expectations. It is our job as their guardians to help them learn & to provide a happy, healthy, fulfilling life.Modern animal training has come a long way since the days of punishment based practices & dominance theory. It has been shown that not only are these outdated methods based on disproven theories, but often lead to aggression, confusion, & learning impairment. The use of pain, fear, & intimidation is unprofessional, unethical, & unnecessary! We believe training should be a fun & positive experience for everyone involved. Through the use of training methods free from pain, fear, or intimidation; we strive to not only help your companion animal through their behavioral issues, but to strengthen your relationship with them as well. Our training is more than just tricks & obedience. It is prevention, socialization, husbandry, & understanding. We want you to truly understand & connect with the animals you share your life with.

I am the owner of Ahimsa Dog Training, a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed) trainer. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa honor society with a bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. I love working with dogs and specialize in puppy socialization and rehabilitating dogs with aggression issues but I also oversee our Trainer in Training Program which gives people hands on experience and access to educated and experienced mentors. My background: I have also co-hosted the radio show, “It’s Raining Cats and Dogs” on KIRO 97.3 FM providing expert advice to callers. My journey into helping dogs with major behavior issues started with Xena, my SharPei/Beagle mix, and former foster dog who became part of the family. Prior to attending Reed College, I completed an internship at the San Francisco SPCA where I worked in the animal behavior department counseling pet owners about their pets’ behavior problems and training shelter dogs. I also worked in the SPCA’s education department, adoption outreach program, and pet-facilitated therapy program. In the evenings, I assisted with dog training classes at Sirius Dog Training, owned by Ian Dunbar, DVM. Dr. Dunbar is a respected animal behaviorist, author, and the founder of APDT, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. At Reed, I studied under Dr. Allen Neuringer, a well-noted psychologist in the field of experimental analysis of behavior pioneered by B. F. Skinner, the founder of operant conditioning. During my college years, I volunteered in the Washington Park Zoo’s education outreach program. After Reed, I worked at the Oregon Regional Primate Center. I spent two years conducting behavioral research on infant rhesus macaques and was listed as a contributor on several journal articles. After working in research, I started a pet boarding business, the Mutt & Me, B&B and operated this business and fostered dogs for 7 years before moving to Seattle. Wynona currently lives with three dogs, Alberta, Gabi, and Ruby.

Atlas fundamentally expands access to assistance dogs. We support people with disabilities to train and certify their own service dog using positive, ethical training methods. At Atlas, we believe anyone who would benefit from a qualified assistance dog should be able to have one. Atlas supports the individual who wants to and is able to be an active part of training their own dog. Our Atlas Team Facilitators are skilled volunteers who assist clients who are working to train their own service dog, either entirely on their own or with a trainer. The facilitators guide the team through their final six or more months of training, working with them to refine the dog’s performance, develop the dog’s skills in mitigating the client’s disability, and prepare the team to pass our public access test and work with confidence in all settings they frequent. We are also working to address a critical shortage of qualified service dog trainers through a comprehensive online program designed to prepare experienced dog trainers to train service dogs and work with people with a wide range of disabilities. Our courses provide training related to dogs, working with people with disabilities, and training for skills to mitigate the client’s disability.

I provide positivity-based, in-home dog training at Puptown Northwest. My approach revolves around establishing a safe and supportive learning environment, using scientifically-proven techniques in the familiarity of the dog’s home to assure consistently good behavior.

I was born and raised right here in Pierce County, Washington — where today, I’ve built my life around dogs. I became a professional dog trainer in 2011, after earning my dog training certification through Animal Behavior College (ABC). But that was just the first step — I’m devoted to staying current on the most effective and humane training methods and on our evolving understanding of learning and behavior. The better my understanding of the science behind why and how behavior and learning works, the more effectively I can help you and your dog. So in 2015 I pursued my CPDT-KA — that stands for Certified Dog Trainer, Knowledge Assessed. A CPDT-KA certification requires trainers to have over 300 hours of training experience, recommendations from other industry professionals, and to pass a written exam. The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) also requires trainers to pledge to follow their code of ethics. That means my methods will always take how your dog and you feel about our training heavily into consideration, and I try to make the experience as positive as possible for everyone Two years later, in 2017, I went back again to test for CCPDT’s advanced certification and earned my CBCC-KA (Certified Behavior Consultant – Knowledge Assessed) certification. This requires experience and knowledge specifically in canine behavior consulting (fear, anxiety, and aggression). In 2021 I took the brand new L.E.G.S.® Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediation® Professional Course to further my understanding of Behavior and expand my tool box to better help dogs and their humans. In 2024 I completed the Dynamic Dog Practitioner course. This course gives an in depth education on posture, gait and biomechanics of dogs. I continue to pursue advanced training opportunities, and my certifications require that I earn Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) from approved experts each year. I haven’t always been a positive trainer (I’m what dog people call a ‘cross over trainer’) but today I believe in and am dedicated to following methods that are founded on the idea that dogs are doing the best they can, with the information we give them .My goal is to teach both you and your dog the skills you need to cooperate more effectively in the modern world. That’s why I follow the guidelines outlined by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), including LIMA: Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive and the Humane Hierarchy of Behavioral Change. But this isn’t just my profession — training dogs is also my hobby. I have dabbled and competed in many dog sports. Such as Schutzhund (IGP), Scent work, Agility, Rally, and Competitive Obedience. I currently share my home with an American Pit Bull Terrier and a German Shepherd.

Michelle has always had a deep passion for animals, having welcomed dogs into her family for most of her life. Her commitment to training with compassion and love became even more pronounced when she adopted Kai, an 80-pound mixed breed with separation anxiety, in 2018. Faced with the challenge of helping Kai overcome his fears, Michelle delved into modern, force-free training methods. She firmly believes that all companion animals can and should be trained without fear. Aligning with the values of Diamonds in the Ruff, Michelle eagerly embraced the opportunity to assist with classes, allowing her to combine her passion for animal welfare with the desire to support pet owners in teaching essential skills. Since joining as a class assistant in Spring 2021, Michelle has progressed to a full-charge instructor as of Fall 2022. As a certified dog trainer, she is dedicated to upholding high training standards. Her Mini-Australian Cattledog, Wasabi, has earned his CGC and CGC-A titles, along with three Tricks titles, and they participate in musical freestyle with Ruff Revue. Together, they are excited to continue exploring new training challenges and activities in the years ahead. In March 2023, Michelle met all requirements to sit for the CCPDT exam, achieving the designation of Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Knowledge Assessed. She also launched her private training services through Pawsitive Pups LLC in Spring 2023, providing tailored support to dog owners seeking to strengthen their bond with their pets

I am a certified dog trainer and IACP affiliate with years of hands-on experience working with dogs and continuing my education in the industry. Over the years, I've traveled around the country and internationally learnining and expanding my knowledge of all things dogs. My Passion for dogs began at a young age while in and out of the hospital, where I experienced firsthand, through the service dogs, the tremendous impact dogs had on people's lives. The comfort, confidence, and connection they brought inspired me to dedicate my life to understanding dogs and helping strengthen the bond between dog and owner.

I am a certified professional dog trainer, certified canine behavior consultant, and Family Dog Mediator. I strive to help people and their dogs build a strong relationships based on trust and clear communication through force-free dog training methods. My specialties include dog aggression and anxiety. With over 15 years experience, I have had the opportunity to work with thousands of dogs on a wide variety of behavioral challenges. I believe that preventive and proactive training is key to helping dogs live a happy, well-adjusted life with their family. I am the dog behavior and training expert for Preventive Vet, a website dedicated to providing free education on pet health, safety, and training. I'm also the lead behavior consultant for Pupstanding Academy and teach group classes at Seattle Humane in Bellevue, Wa. I currently serve as secretary of the board for the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.

I’m an IAABC Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and Fear Free Certified Professional with 13 years of experience helping dogs, cats, and their families. My specialty? Fearful dogs, the ones who hide, bark, lunge, or shut down when the world feels too big. My career started in shelters, where I spent years assessing behavior, creating training plans, and even fostering some of the most fearful dogs myself. That work taught me to celebrate the tiny victories, the first tail wag, the first relaxed sigh, and shaped the way I help families today. Now based in Bellingham, Washington, I offer in-person sessions throughout Whatcom County and remote consulting nationwide. My approach is grounded in kindness and science, no fear, no force, no judgment, so both you and your dog or cat can breathe a little easier and start enjoying life together again.

I graduated from Northwest Canine Studies in June of 2023 and provide professional positive reinforcement, force-free, relationally-centered training services in order to support healthy, enriching, and safe lifestyles for companion dogs and their humans. I grew up around dogs and participated in 4-H guide dog puppy raising. In 2007, I worked with Summit Assistance Dogs to become a certified handler of a therapy dog named Sassy to provide further support to students who receive special education services. I am in my 23rd year as a special education teacher in Seattle and the 12 years Sassy was in the classroom were the highlight of my career as I watched her and students thrive together. However, looking back at what I know now, I have numerous questions. Back then, I didn't know about dog body language and how to interpret what dogs are constantly communicating to us. I got caught up in the media frenzy and advice of others regarding human-centric training methods based on the need to be the alpha and take charge (methods that have been debunked by science). I know now that I missed important communication from Sassy and other dogs and know I made mistakes. And, these real experiences help me see the human in all of my clients as we utilize scientifically-backed, force-free methods that support the quality of life of our dogs and ourselves. A year after Sassy passed away, Venus entered my life. Venus is a sensitive soul who is full of joy and fun and a love of people. Her first few years with me were full of numerous, painful health obstacles that had us in and out of the vet as well leading to her selective reactivity to other dogs. I am so grateful I began working with a force-free, R+ trainer who helped me grow in my skill level of listening to Venus and developing strategies and tools to support our relationship while creating boundaries to help her navigate the world safely. In 2023, I took the plunge to become a certified trainer through Northwest Canine Studies and graduated in June of 2023. I am currently continuing my learning journey with hundreds of professional dog trainers around the world through the Nordic Education Center for Ethical Dog Training, where I am currently working on my Level 3 certificate. In the summer of 2025, I received my certificate in Family Dog Mediation through Kim Brophey's L.E.G.S. 2.0 course. I am also learning more to understand pain in our dogs and will begin taking a certification course through Galen Myotherapy in the UK in the fall of 2025. Additionally, in the summer of 2025, I spent a week at the Karen Pryor National Training Center learning more about Positive Reinforcement (R+) Training from Ken Ramirez and applying that knowledge with a donkey and a goat. I have taken courses on Predation Substitution with Simone Mueller, K9 NoseWork, Barn Hunt at Argus Ranch, a variety of relationship-centered training classes with Suzanne Clothier, Canine Essentials with Sindhoor Pangal, and numerous others. During the past several years, I have joined into a collaborative relationship with another Force-Free trainer and we run puppy and socialization courses as well collaborate and learn together, which helps me to deepen collaboration and professional practice.

I have had dogs my entire life but when my heart was attached to one that was wired a little differently and became aggressive I suddenly realized how little I knew. Flynn made me want to know more, be better, and do the best I could for as many dogs as possible so I set off to learn and earn credentials. I graduated from Catch Canine Academy and plan to sit for the CPDT this coming spring.

I completed Animal Behavior College’s Dog Obedience Certification in June 2015. I am currently the sole proprietor of Kyle’s Dog Training and Boarding. It’s been a full calendar year now since I started my business. I’ve learned a lot about dog training and body language since then and even more about how to communicate effectively with my clients so that I am setting them and their dogs up to succeed. I have volunteered for over three years with Pasado’s Safehaven Animal Sanctuary and worked to adopt the many dogs with physical and behavioral challenges there. It is my hope to continue helping dogs find good homes through positive training methods, patience, and compassion. I have a background in cultural studies, and psychology, where I studied at the University of Washington (BIS-CLA 2008) and Cascadia Community College (AIS-2007). I have taken that knowledge and utilized it in the context of training dogs through the operant conditioning methodology. I have learned much in the last year about dog training. My perspective has evolved to a new level of respect and compassion for dogs, which motivates me even more than ever to help dogs and their owners live happier lives together. I look forward to the future and hope I can save as many dogs and as many dog owners as possible. I could think of nothing more purposeful than this and I hope that I can save as many dogs as the ones that continue to save me every day.

At Pawcific NW Training it is our mission to teach our clients how to teach their dogs. We aren’t about quick fixes. We believe in doing things right the first time through building a route of communication between dog and owner based on mutual respect. Dogs are inherently selfish creatures if left to their own devices they will choose to do what gets them a reward. Through the use of positive reinforcement, we can build a relationship with our dog to make the behaviors we humans see as “Good” even more rewarding than those they would naturally find on their own.

We are all different and we do not all learn the exact same way. I like to tailor lessons to specific people and their specific dogs. I have found through experience that while there are techniques that are effective the ability to think outside of the box and consider a dogs individual needs is important. Hi, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dick Lester. For the past 15 years, my family and I have lived in the Marysville area. I retired from the U.S. Navy. Dogs and dog training have always been a part of my life, and have always wanted to be a dog trainer. Over time dog training methods have changed a great deal from punishment training to positive reinforcement. Dog training should be fun for both owner and dog. The dog should be obedient because it wants to obey because it is fun and not out of fear and punishment. My goal has been to learn how to teach the correct techniques to the owners, so they can have obedient dogs that are fun to be around. That creates that special bond between dog and owner. In my search for a training technique that enforced my own beliefs. I found that Animal Behavior College not only believed as I did, they had a way to teach those concepts to do trainers and owners. I chose Animal Behavior College for my training for three main reasons: 1. Positive reinforcement dog training course. 2. A simple training method that creates a very obedient pet. 3. Certification dog training course. I would love the opportunity to work with you to train your dog. So give me a call at Mr. Blue and Miss Lu’ Dog Training Service We can train most may one? 425 344-7822 rlester10@comcast.net
