I’m an IAABC Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and Fear Free Certified Professional with 13 years of experience helping dogs, cats, and their families. My specialty? Fearful dogs, the ones who hide, bark, lunge, or shut down when the world feels too big. My career started in shelters, where I spent years assessing behavior, creating training plans, and even fostering some of the most fearful dogs myself. That work taught me to celebrate the tiny victories, the first tail wag, the first relaxed sigh, and shaped the way I help families today. Now based in Bellingham, Washington, I offer in-person sessions throughout Whatcom County and remote consulting nationwide. My approach is grounded in kindness and science, no fear, no force, no judgment, so both you and your dog or cat can breathe a little easier and start enjoying life together again.

In 1983 I was founding member of Chuckant Dog Training Assoc. My Belgian Sheepdog, Bear and I competed in AKC & CKC obedience. In 1990 I was looking for a new activity with my Border Collie, Triska. We discovered dog agility and went on to compete in USDAA, NADAC and ADAC agility. We currently have 5 dogs, all adopted from a shelter or rescue. I enjoy working with local rescues and shelter/rescue dogs.
