Tricia Casper Dog Training offers in-home dog training in St. Charles and Warren Counties, MO and online dog training everywhere. Basic obedience, puppy issues, problem solving, and behavior modification are addressed. My training methods include positive reinforcement, using whatever motivates your dog, coupled with negative reward markers that let your dog know when he/she has not done the behavior correctly.Training begins at your home where your dog will benefit the most. Some issues can be resolved in one session, and some may take several meetings over time. Your dog's training program will depend on many factors including your dog's temperament, personality, working drive, the behavioral issues you want to resolve, and what you would like to achieve through training. All of these things will be discussed during our first meeting. My goal is to teach you why your dog is doing the things he does so that you can better understand and communicate with him, using training to strengthen the relationship between the two of you! About Tricia... My animal career began in 1999 and includes zookeeping, dog daycare, animal safety on film/TV sets, dog walking, pet sitting, shelter work, dog training, dog behavior modification, and dog media. Bill Giese started training dogs in 2009 and established By My Side Dog Training, LLC in 2013. Bill provides force-free, positive reinforcement dog training services to individual clients in their homes in the metropolitan Saint Louis area. In-home settings provide personal attention to the individual client's needs, and to the relationship between the client and their dog. Services are recommended and tailored to be affordable, while meeting training needs and objectives. The science behind canine behavior and training supports a force-free, pain-free, positive reinforcement training approach as the most long-term effective and humane method for training a dog, eliminating unwanted behaviors, and building a positive relationship with our dogs. Bill started down the path of training dogs when he brought into his home a 4-month old puppy off the street in 2006. Libby had clearly not been properly socialized with other dogs or people, and presented several behavior issues that prompted Bill to seek a professional dog trainer. He was fortunate to connect with a trainer associated with the Greater St. Louis Training Club (GSLTC). Since that time, he completed the club's trainers course, served as president of the GSLTC for two terms, and has served as the lead trainer for puppy, adult dogs, and dogs with issues (reactive and shy dog) classes. Bill is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). He earned this certification through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). All certified trainers must pass a rigorous examination and earn continuing education credits to maintain their designations. Bill is a Fear Free Certified Professional. The mission of the Fear Free program is to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets by inspiring and educating the people who care for them. Certification requires passing an initial course and earning continuing education credits to maintain the designation. Bill is a Dog Training Professional Full Member of the Pet Professional Guild. The Pet Professional Guild is a membership organization representing pet industry professionals who are committed to results based, science based force-free training and pet care. Bill is a Professional Member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and pursues continuing education through professional journals, books, seminars, and trainer networks.

I learned what I know about professional dog training by apprenticing with several different dog trainers and attending several different dog training programs, most notably the world renowned Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) for Animal Training & Behavior. I graduated from the KPA in 2010. My formal education includes a master of arts degree in higher and adult education with a concentration in adult education administration. My graduate study at the University of Missouri included work in an animal learning laboratory performing experiments to study rates of reinforcement in rats. My undergraduate degree is in science and I am a registered nurse with extensive clinical and administrative experience. This background provides me with a unique blend of education and experience which, when combined with college coursework in dog biology and behavior, pet nutrition, wolf ethology, and other continuing education, provide me with a solid framework for teaching, training, and behavior consultation. I work with dogs of all breeds and ages, and have experience with wolves, prior to and during completion of the graduate course in wolf ethology I completed at St. Thomas University in Minnesota. As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers), I continue my education to maintain my certification. Highlights of my continuing education include: - Principles and Techniques of Behavior Modification, a week-long course for licensed veterinarians, vet techs, and certified dog trainers at Purdue University Veterinary Behavior Clinic - Canine biology and ethology at Wolf Park with Dr. Ray Coppinger - Applied behavior analysis course, taught by Dr. Susan Friedman, PhD - Dog Parkour Instructor course, International Dog Parkour Association - Clicker Expo I've been an invited speaker at numerous events, including the First Annual Kyra Sundance Tridex Stunt Dog Conference, the 2025 Puppy Blueprint Summit, and more. I've given bite prevention talks for the past 15 years, and am currently a regular presenter on bite prevention at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. I was invited to present a month-long online course on clicker training for the Musical Dog Sport Association, and have been interviewed for various television stories, podcasts, and print articles on dog-related topics. My dog-related publications include articles in the Chronicle of the Dog, contribution to the APDT Top Tips from Top Trainers book (2010) and a book, Getting to Know Dogs (2014) by Australian photographer, Diane Andersen. I presented a recorded webinar on pressure wraps for e-Training for Dogs. My professional experience includes service dog training, drill team, canine musical freestyle, therapy dog work, Canine Good Citizen training and testing, professional animal handling for an advertising agency, more than three decades of volunteer work at animal shelters and rescues, and years of experience doing behavior consultations and behavior modification. I am a mentor trainer for Animal Behavior College and CATCH Dog Trainer program, and an AKC-Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. Training Equipment: Clickers. No choke chain collars, prong/pinch collars, shock ("e") collars. No leash corrections. I prefer harnesses over neck collars. Training Philosophy: I apply what I know about adult learning as well as dog behavior and learning when teaching, and tailor my instruction and methods to the needs of individual dogs and their owners. My approach is learner-centered and focused on positive reinforcement for both dogs and humans. I work collaboratively with general practice veterinarians as well as board-certified behaviorists, and believe in a team approach.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: dogs and humans grow best when they feel safe, understood, and connected. For more than 15 years, I’ve dedicated my career to helping families build those connections—supporting both ends of the leash through compassion, clarity and evidence-based guidance. As a certified trainer, certified behavior consultant, and enrichment-focused boarding business owner—recognized in a national magazine for innovation and individualized care—I bring a holistic approach rooted in trust, communication, and mutual well-being. My work centers on trauma, overreactivity, and the emotional needs of both species, helping families move from frustration to harmony. I’m also an award-winning writer and speaker whose articles on trauma and training pit bulls have earned two Dog Writers Association of America awards, along with multiple nominations across several years. I’ve presented at APDT conferences, sharing thought leadership on canine behavior, enrichment and the human–animal bond. Before launching my business, I spent two decades in education and customer service, honing the communication, coaching and problem-solving skills that now shape how I teach, mentor, and support both people and their pets. Whether I’m creating courses, consulting one-on-one, or speaking about trauma-informed, relationship-centered training my mission remains the same: to foster safety, connection and sustainable growth for dogs and the humans who love them.

I have two children and am experienced working with families with children and dogs. My specialty is behavioral modification. I love meeting new people and helping work out a training plan to fit their lives and solve their problems. I decided to become a trainer after an animal behaviorist helped my husband and I discover why his friendly beagle had become aggressive. Within half an hour the trainer had helped with the problem and within a week I had a new furry best friend. This inspired me to learn how to help other families. I offer several versions of private training, AKC Canine Good Citizen and STAR Puppy courses, and a group course (free to churches and local businesses with a group of 10+) for children called Kids and Canines. Where the children learn the basics of canine safety and positive training. Happy Tails Everyone!

I also realized that many trainers methods of training are outdated and unnecessarily rough. One of the perks to choosing Loki KC is that we are mobile! Thats right we come to you!

My name is Meredith, and I was quite literally born an animal lover. My earliest of childhood memories are those spent happily toddling after our collie, Dutchess, everywhere she went. I’m drawn to, and naturally connect with animals, and have learned through countless hours of my life spent watching, studying, interacting with, and training them, how they think, act, and react to the world around them. I learned invaluable skills in assessing, handling, and working with various behaviors through studying both verbal communication and, most importantly, body language as a veterinary assistant/practical technician for over 15 years. In 2018 I sought out my certification in positive dog training techniques through Animal Behavior College, and successfully completed their in-depth and rigorous course study and externship with a qualified, positive, fear free dog trainer. I graduated in July 2019, earning my certification.

Christy Pritchard voted 2015’s best dog trainer in St. Louis on Thumbtack.com. Click Here to view page: https://www.thumbtack.com/mo/saint-louis/guard-dog-trainers/ Owner/Head Trainer: Christy Pritchard CDT, ABCDT, ADPT is a very skilled and devoted trainer. Knowing since childhood that her destiny was to work with animals, Christy knew from a very young age that God had put her on this planet for one reason: To know, understand and love animals, and yes, in particular dogs. While God may have created Christy with the passion for animals, her parents encouraged and nurtured it. Her parents bred and raised Chow Chows for a large part of her childhood so Christy was exposed to the raising and handling of dogs at a very young age. Among having dogs Christy was raised in a household full of other animals as well; ranging from Chinese Water Dragons to turtles, to tarantulas giving Christy a wide spectrum of the handling and care of many species of animals. While still in high school, Christy also went part time to a technical school to be a veterinary assistant. By the time she graduated high school she had also received her certification for veterinary assistant, giving her career in the animal industry a jump start. While attending veterinary assistance school, Christy learned the proper handling skills of many animals and basic obedience for dogs. This launched her career and passion in the field of animal behavior. Over the course of the past 12 years, Christy has obtained many certifications in the field of animal behavior, has trained over four thousand dogs in animal shelters and has helped just as many families with their dogs. She specializes in reactivity and aggression. She now holds group classes and private sessions at her facility My Best Buddy in Saint Ann MO. Credentials: Animal Behavior College: General Studies Animal Behavior College: Training Shelter Dogs Humane Society of the United States: Interpreting Animal Behavior For Safe Handling Humane Society

Paws of Wisdom I conducted both group and private lessons with puppies and younger dogs on basic obedience in a larger pet based store setting. Then I worked privately with a few dogs and owners who were experiencing problems such as aggression, lack of control by the owner with older dogs, puppy mill dogs, owner adopted dogs they did not understand and other behavior problems. I was drafted to work with a non-profit organization training shelter dogs with incarcerated youths, which was to continue later in 2009. I was waiting to take on a facility close to where I was living when due to unforeseen changes that did not happen. I moved onto another situation where my husband bred Giant Schnauzer and Miniature Schnauzers which at times can be more difficult to train. After working with these two groups I developed a greater appreciation of the working dog and keeping the dog’s brain more active. We also have a search and rescue dog that was kept ready in training. All this broadened my skills in training to include tracking for the search and rescue dog. These skills need to stay active to keep the dog alert and on point when needed to search. I reached back into some training I had for Agility I took one of my personal dogs to prior to my ABC training. We set up a large agility track to train the dogs for all types of situations including walking on shaky ladders, sliding down boards, climbing up a ladder, following another dog into a tube or by command, and other types of real life obstacles they may encounter searching for people, dogs, or other things as required. AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Community (CGCA), and Urban (CGCU) classes and testing are all offered. Also offered for the puppies is the AKC S.T.A.R. program. These programs and designations give the dogs/puppies a good base of social skills. I may be able to help you individually with your problem that can not be solved by basic obedience classes held in a store or group setting. We worked on dogs out

Eryn Todisman
