With nearly two decades of experience, I specialize in positive, force-free training methods that foster trust and effective communication between dogs and their families. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Maine at Orono in 2007. During my college years, I began my professional journey at Green Acres Kennel Shop in Bangor, where I advanced from a Certified Pet Care Technician to a lead dog training instructor. Jocelyn is currently working as a clinical behaviorist and LVT at the Veterinary & Rehabilitation Center of Cape Elizabeth in the greater Portland ME area. She also has extensive lecturing experience; please contact her for info on speaking engagements, educational pieces, or consultations. From 2016-2025, she worked as a Clinical Behaviorist at the MSPCA-Angell in Boston, MA. In her role, she saw clients and their cats and dogs for behavior consults, taught dog obedience classes, kitten socialization & training classes, and assisted with behavior problems in shelter animals. Jocelyn earned her BA from Connecticut College in 1997 where she studied environmental science and zoology. She earned her vet tech certification and spent many years working as a vet tech in different areas of the veterinary field, including Critical Care, Emergency and Specialty Services. Working in this field cultivated her interest in companion animal behavior, and in 2015, Jocelyn earned her MS in Companion Animal Behavior Analysis and Counseling from the American College of Applied Science. She is a certified and licensed veterinary technician (in MA & Maine) and additionally she is credentialed as a certified dog behavior consultant through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.

Judy Rapp Moore is a Portland, Maine resident who has devoted her adult life to understanding humane training methods to help problem dogs. After rescuing three territorial dogs with bite histories, she joined the Association of Pet Dog Trainers in 2008 to learn from others how to support her beloved pets. After several years of conditioning, each one eventually earned their Canine Good Citizen Certification. The resilient bull terrier mix earned a therapy title from Therapy International and worked at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. This was after inflicting seven punctures on three different men. Judy’s passion for dogs exhibiting territorial aggression led her to become President and Owner of Canine Behavior Counseling, LLC, which she has owned and operated since 2008. Judy is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) through the International Association of Animals Behavior Consultants, IAABC. A Certified CARAT Assessor (CCA) through the Clothier Animal Response Assessment Tool CARAT. A Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the APDT. Judy has served as a Canine Expert Witness in the U.S. Court System, Co-Authored A.C.ER Selection Protocol which teaches professional trainers how to Match the right dog with an individual. Judy selected fourteen rescue dogs from local shelters and successfully matched them with Maine Military Veterans from 2013 to 2019. Kelly Keebler\\r\\nis a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and a Certified Family Dog Mediator (FDM). She brings experience from various dog training facilities from across the country. She began teaching classes in 2011 at PetSmart in Pennsylvania. Working at multiple dog daycare facilities, Kelly loved observing the canine body language and a variety of safe ways to manage play groups. While living in California, she graduated from the Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Professional (KPA-CTP) Program in 2017 and received her Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) in 2019. Her continuing education includes a certification through the Aggression in Dogs Course and the Living and Learning with Animals Course.

I have interned with several shelters throughout high school. After school I worked at a few of these shelters as I studied dog training through ABC. My passion is shelter dog training. I have interned at Animal Farm Foundation, a pit bull rescue in New York. There I learned a lot about shelter enrichment, shelter behavior and how to handle it, and positive reinforcement training techniques. Currently working on gaining more knowledge in dog training and behavior; as well as learning to incorporate positive reinforcement/science based training into the horse world as well.

She has worked with fearful and anxious dogs in homes and shelters, and has regularly taught senior dog classes. After relocating to Maine in late 2019, Dawn looks forward to starting new group classes in the Katahdin Region, and would love to spend some time with you and your animal companions!

I combine my background in social psychology with a life-long love for animals to provide a unique approach to dog training. I am passionate about strengthening the relationship between families and their dogs, while also teaching good behavior through positive reinforcement. With an 12 year old boxer named Cassius as my muse, I am following my dream of working with dogs and helping families recognize the key role they play in their dog’s success. I offer the latest and greatest techniques and approaches to training through private dog obedience sessions as well as group classes, working with all dog breeds and ages.

Jacqueline has worked with dog her whole life. She decided to get proper training and certification through Animal Behavior College. She has fostered Chow Chows for 12 years. She currently has 2 Rottweiler that she is busy training. We can’t forget the corgi who bosses everyone around. She currently is teaching in the Augusta area. Jacqueline is also A member of APDT. She is a CLASS evaluator, CGC evaluator, and STAR puppy evaluator. She currently holds a set on the Board of Directors for Humane Society of Waterville Area.
