About

I have been instructing group manners and socialization classes since 1998 and added private, in-home training and behavior counseling in 2004. I am honored to have had my business awarded “Best of the Valley” in the 2024 Community Choice Awards. I am a mentor trainer for both Victoria Stilwell Dog Training Academy and CATCH Canine Trainers Academy where I help teach the next generation of force free dog trainers. I hold professional memberships in The Pet Professional Guild, Force Free Trainers of Wisconsin and The Association of Professional Dog Trainers. In addition to my professional memberships, I am also an Associate Member of the Siberian Husky Club of the Twin Cities, an active member of the local all-breed kennel club, and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. I tested for and earned my certification through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers in Denver, Colorado in 2004. The CCPDT certification is an internationally recognized, independent, certification process for dog trainers and is not affiliated with specific pet store certification programs or on-line course certification. The CCPDT exam covers many areas of training including: Learning Theory, Ethology, Animal Husbandry, Equipment, and Communication and Instruction Skills. Continuing education units are required to maintain this certification. As a certified professional dog trainer, I am dedicated to education, remain current in the advances in training, have a proficient level of knowledge and strive to uphold a professional standard in the dog-training field. The training and behavior modification methods I employ are proven, science/evidence based, force free methods therefore; no pain, fear, force or intimidation will be used during the training process. I encourage you to be positive, consistent, understanding of mistakes, patient and fair when training your dog. Please, no harsh corrections! Prior to opening the training center in Little Chute in 2013, I spent eight enjoyable years teaching manners classes at Countryside Veterinary Services in Appleton. I am a former mentor trainer for Animal Behavior College and past director of training at the local all-breed kennel club where I also taught advanced classes for those working toward competition in AKC events. I live in Appleton with my husband, Steve, and our two Siberian Huskies: Declan and Rogan. Our hearts also hold a very special place for Kyle, Dante, River, Greyson, Cian and Raen, furkids who have made their journey across The Rainbow Bridge - They were incredible boys who touched our lives forever. I look forward to getting to know you and your four-legged family member!
