Laura was member of the New Mexico National Guard, a Special Education teacher for 20 years and has lived in many states as an Army Wife, during her husband's 20+ year active duty career. She began training dogs in 2008 in Austin, Tx. In 2012, she moved to Colorado and completed the Dog Trainer program with Animal Behavior College. She did a 6 month internship with Wag Dog Training in Colorado Springs. Laura joined the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the Pet Professional Guild and attends yearly seminars, conferences and webinars to obtain continuing education credits and stay on top of the current research and most effective training methods. Laura also, seeks and completes courses and programs in training related certifications every year. Laura opened Sit Stay Play Colorado in 2014 and Sit Stay Play Michigan in 2018. Laura has been involved in animal rescue and training for over 30 years, in various ways. Laura currently has 4 dogs, Cheyenne, Cub, Rocky, and Keno. There is also one feline member of the family, Finn, who is a 2 year old tuxedo. Laura works towards new certifications and continuing education year round.
