Hi, I'm Melanie! I am an accredited dog trainer (ADT) at the Greenville Humane Society. I work directly with struggling dogs in the shelter, creating and executing training plans and behavior modification treatments individualized to each animal. I also offer public group training class and private in-home training services. I strictly use fear free, positive reinforcement approaches to handling and training with an emphasis on building trust and relationship on both ends of the leash. In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, crafting, and coffee! I share my life with my husband, two cats, and 13 year old blue heeler. To further my education, I am regularly keeping up to date in the dog training world and taking advantage of as many learning opportunities that I can. I also have been actively working toward learning in home and shelter cat behavior.

I specialize in Behavior Modification and Obedience Training. My sessions are provided in your home to ensure you and your dog are given my complete focus. I provide a Free Consultation visit to evaluate your needs and allow you to decide if I am the RIGHT trainer for you. I also provide daycare and boarding services at my home, pet sitting services in your home, and transportation services for the busy pet owner. Weekly daycare discount packages available. Pawsitive Effects Dog Training, LLC I presently offer group and private session for basic obedience, using a clicker, which covers sit, down, loose leash walking, heel, settle, sit-stay, down-stay, focus, come and leave it, or trade it. I also address problem behaviors during the class such as jumping, barking, nipping, housebreaking, leash pulling and chewing. Group classes are held on Saturdays, 11-noon, at Greenville County Animal Care, 328 Furman Hall Road, Greenville, SC. If you adopted from GCAC your first class is free. I offer advanced obedience in my Life Skills class where we train in different Greenville locations such as the park, Main Street, and pet stores. I specialize in shy and/or fearful dogs.
