Co-Founder & Lead Trainer, Training Spot After graduating from the University of Oregon, Jen discovered her passion for dog training while volunteering at a local shelter. Over the past 20+ years, she has worked extensively with pet parents, rescue organizations, veterinarians, and fellow trainers to improve the lives of dogs and their people. Jen is one of only a handful of Certified Dog Behavior Consultants in Oregon, a Family Dog Mediator, and a faculty member at the Karen Pryor Academy. She specializes in helping families and multi-dog households find practical, science-based solutions to everyday challenges and complex behavior issues. Her specialties include puppies, dogs and kids, resource guarding, leash reactivity, multi-dog conflicts, and advanced training. Jen is known for making training fun, accessible, and effective—no matter where you’re starting from.

Prickly Dog is run by Raaka Mori. She is CPDT-KA certified (Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge-Assessed), an honors graduate of Animal Behavior College, a certified service dog trainer (ABCSDT), is Fear-Free certified, and has been working with dogs since her teens. Raaka has managed board+train centers, run classes with organizations like Every Dog, and is an independent trainer based in Eugene, OR.

Certified by the Animal Behavior College (ABCDT) and Karen Pryor Clicker Training Academy (KPA-CTP) Volunteer: canine behavior modification at local animal shelter, currently 6 years experience, ongoing. Licensed physical therapist with 22 years orthopedic experience. Currently am pursuing certification as a Canine Rehab Specialist offered by the Univ. of Tennessee. Certified Veterinary Technician, 12 years experience in domestic animals and a zoological park. I use positive training methods only. NO choke, shock, or spike collars. My passion is educating owners about dog “language,” learning to communicate more effectively and create a closer bond with their animal. My preference is to use the word “teach” rather than “train.”
