Hi, I’m Lauren, the trainer behind Canine Confidence Club. My background in animal care and training includes experience as a kennel attendant, groomer, dog walker, dog sitter, and professional dog trainer. Over the years, I’ve worked with dogs of many breeds, ages, and temperaments in both group class and day training environments, helping guardians better understand their dogs and build stronger relationships through clear communication and ethical training practices. I earned my CPDT-KA certification in April 2026 as part of my ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional development. I’m a current member of the Pet Professional Guild, the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and the Grisha Stewart Academy. I’m also currently pursuing a B.S. in Companion Animal Science through Unity Environmental University. My training philosophy is rooted in force-free, reward-based methods that prioritize both learning and emotional welfare. I do not use aversive tools or punishment-based approaches, and I strongly value training that is ethical, evidence-based, and sustainable for both dogs and their guardians. I’m especially interested in canine behavior, enrichment, learning theory, and the relationship between stress, environment, and behavior. Much of my continuing education focuses on helping dogs gain confidence, develop practical life skills, and navigate the human world with greater clarity and success.

I offer gentle, reward-based training at your home. Training is customized, based on what you want to achieve, and may include basic obedience, problem-solving, potty training, and “good manners”. I like to include all members of the family in the training. For three years I was a trainer at puppy socialization classes and enjoy working with clients who are adopting a puppy. I offer puppy packages that support clients starting before the puppy comes to their home.
