Hi, my name is Eleanor McCoy. I am a dog trainer, pet sitter and dog walker in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I started East Paws Pet Services in 2008 and began this pet sitting, dog walking and pet care services journey. At that time I was employed by the School Board of Broward County as a bookkeeper and also worked in fitness clubs as a Certified Group Fitness Instructor. I have been a member in good standing with the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) since 2008. I feel education is an asset in any industry and have taken advantage of all the resources NAPPS offers. In 2010 Animal Behavior College (partnered with NAPPS) offered a program to become a Certified Dog Trainer. I signed up and excelled in that course and gained the title of Certified Dog Trainer. Still eager to learn all I could with the care of my client’s pets, I became a NAPPS Certified Pet Sitter in 2011, which included the American Red Cross Pet First Aid and CPR. In 2013 while attending the NAPPS Conference I was certified by Pet Tech for CPR, First Aid and Care of pets. This is a hands-on course, which for me is a better way to learn by reading it, seeing it and doing it. To round out my resources for everything pet, I joined Pet Sitters International (PSI) in 2015 and became certifed with them in 2018. I gained the title of CPPS (Certified Professional Pet Sitter). Our pets are dependent on us for all their needs. They say it takes a village to raise a child well, I feel the same way about your pets. I want to be part of your family to help you with the care of your pets when you aren’t there. Also, I would want to help you in the training of your dog and alleviate those problem behaviors.

I have been an animal lover all my life. I have owned and cared for numerous dogs, cats, parakeets, schools of fishes, a horde of hamsters and a corn snake named Electro. I am currently a lead trainer at the Zoom Room Boyton Beach. In my own practice, I am a positive Reinforcement trainer and behaviorist. I currently provide private obedience training and behavior modification. I am also a American Kennel Club evaluator and an agility trainer.
