We offer in-home private lessons and day training formats to teach skills, communication, and trust in order to address unwanted behaviors. We work with mild and moderate reactivity cases, but will refer more drastic cases to a specialist.

Katherine is a certified dog behavior consultant (CDBC) through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), a certified dog trainer through the Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA) and has completed an advanced course in canine behavior science through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute (Dip.CBST). She is a professional and active member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). Katherine is devoted to the welfare of dogs and all animals and is dedicated to working with her clients to develop effective, convenient solutions to behavior issues and to fostering better animal-human relationships through the most modern, evidence-based training strategies.

Experience began with training hunting dogs as a young girl, then I started working on obedience, agility, and showing dogs. Now working with many different breeds on behavior problems, obedience, puppy training, etc.

I am continuing my education by assisting a trainer who has 30 years experience working with aggressive dogs. I am a member of the American Scent Hound Association/S.T.O.R.M. (Scent Trackers of the Rocky Mountains). I have two dogs Roxy, a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog and Champ, a Bloodhound/English Coonhound mix and my cat Spit.

Puppy training, obedience training, private lessons, and boarding training are available for everything from basic obedience and puppy training to more complex behaviors such as not going up stairs and staying off the carpet/furniture. Lessons are given one hour every week for an agreed number of 4, 6, or 8 weeks. Prices range depending length of time, number of dogs, and the complexity of your dogs behavioral needs I will travel to you, you can come to me, or we can meet at a local park. I have trained many dogs threw the years and believe that training should be tapered to your dogs individual personality. I work with a range of, and have an extensive knowledge on, many different types of training tools. I attended Animal Behavior College and am a fully certified dog trainer.
