As a team of veterinary behavior professionals, we take a truly holistic approach to wellness. We determine if the pet is physically healthy, has appropriate structure, benevolent leadership and adequate enrichment, and understands what is expected of them. We are force-free trainers, so we use rewards (praise, affection, toys, treats, etc.) to motivate your dog to succeed. Canine Assist - Training pets and working dogs since 2003: detection, search and rescue, assistance dogs for the disabled.

I’ve had dogs my entire adult life and wanted dogs my entire childhood. A likely story of a dog trainer, right? But it was after adopting a severely leash-reactive dog, Hossa, that I sought professional training help and changed the course of my relationship with dogs forever. I use positive reinforcement to create a fun and cooperative relationship between pet guardians and their four-legged family members. By tapping into the science behind how dogs learn, we can more effectively train them to become happy and well-adjusted family members! I have been working with dogs since 2013 in various capacities — from volunteering to train shelter dogs to teaching private lessons for my own clients. I stay up-to-date on the latest training methods by attending seminars and conferences led by the top trainers in my field. This allows me to offer the best and most accurate knowledge to my clients. When I’m not training dogs, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dogs, art, and enjoying the outdoors.

Hi I'm Leeann Webster of Dog Done It. I help dogs and their people build clear communication, practical skills, and calmer day-to-day lives through humane, reward-based training. I start with what the dog needs—reducing stress, fear, pain, boredom, and overwhelm—because those factors shape behavior long before “obedience” does. I focus on reading body language early looking for the whispers before the shouts, teaching dogs what to do instead, and coaching clients with simple, step-by-step plans they can follow in real life—so both the dog’s wellbeing and the human’s confidence grow together.

My mission as a professional dog trainer and animal lover is to Strengthen the bond between humans and their dog companions, using positive methods, clear communication and above all, a deep respect and understanding of why behaviors occur. Training takes work and dedication. Just as the saying goes, “Rome was not built in a day,” the same is true of working with your dog. Dogs become members of our family, but they are also canines and if we are to truly integrate them in to our lives and lifestyles, they deserve to be deeply understood, respected and set up for success.

My name is April and I am the owner and operator of Core Canine. I obtained my dog training certification through Animal Behavior College. My love of dogs brought me to volunteer with rescues and shelters. I realized, through these volunteer efforts, that behavior is the #1 reason owners surrender their dogs. I decided the best way to prevent dogs from being surrendered was to become a trainer myself. I work with dogs on fundamental obedience and behavior issues, helping them to be better members of their families. I’ve worked with dogs from shelters & rescues and with purebred dogs from breeders. I am passionate about dog training and believe that every dog deserves to reach their full potential. My goal is to work with you and your dog, every step of the way, to find the best possible solutions in creating a solid relationship between you both.

Every dog has a unique personality and responds to different types of training. Properly training your dog can both enhance your life as well as your dog’s life. Want to be able to take your dog on long walks with no pulling? Want to be able to play a fun game of fetch at the beach and not worry about your dog running off? What about just the basics every puppy should know? Have a specific problem behavior you need help solving? I am here to help you and your dog start this journey together. I believe in using positive reinforcement training to help you and your dog communicate effectively. Currently, I will be offering remote training as well as in person.

My name is Stana Clark and my whole life I have always loved animals. When I was four my mother decided to get me my first dog for Christmas and I have always had a love for dogs. I went to Radford University for Advertising and Graphic Design and after four great years I graduated with a B.A in Communication with a Concentration in Advertising and Graphic Design. I spent a lot of time at college volunteering at my local animal shelter. It would just break my heart to see the hundreds of dogs come in. Some of these dogs were dumped like trash and not worth keeping, to me they were just different souls with different stories to tell. Throughout my life we have always had multiple dogs in the family (Cocker Spaniel, Springer Spaniel, Lab, Border Collie, even Pit Bulls), once I graduated college I wanted to continue volunteering and helping more dogs. I joined Bully Paws Pit Bull Patriots of Fredericksburg, VA. I was welcomed in the group of full force. I have been working with Bully Paws for seven years now as as foster parent, event coordinator, and the foster coordinator for the rescue. I bring dogs into my home and with lots of love, training, and socialization I manage to find them homes. I have successfully found homes for over 60+ dogs. I’ve dealt with strays, abandoned dogs, sick dogs, puppies, dogs with disabilities, pregnant and/or nursing momma dogs, etc. All dog have had different personalities and all with different back stories. The bottom line is they all needed help. Don’t get me wrong I love pit bulls (if you couldn’t tell) but I’m an animal lover and I love all dog and animals in general. I’m a DOG PERSON! The more dogs I fostered I wanted to have a better understanding on certain behavior problems I encountered over the years. I always had a knack on how to train dogs, but I wanted to learn more on why we train dogs. So I put myself through school to learn more on the behavior side of dog training by applying to the Animal Behavior College. It was a

My name is Lisa Clickener and I have had a love for animals since I was a little girl. I had many dogs and cats while growing up; I rode horses and helped care for the animals on my dad’s farm; I even raised sheep for the 4-H club in high school. My dog training story begins when my mother was the recipient of a service dog (Bradley) due to her limitations from Parkinson’s Disease. I had the pleasure of working side-by-side with the dog trainer and my mother as we learned all the cues and made adjustments to the training as needed. I was so impressed with the trainer’s ability to come up with creative solutions to problems and her patience to teach dog and owner how to communicate effectively. I found it fascinating that Bradley knew how to push buttons on command, “get help”, and even to pick up a credit card or a pen off the floor. I was intrigued. Shortly after Bradley came into our lives, our sweet nine-year-old Boxer Layla passed away. My whole family was crushed. Over the following months, we considered when and where we would find another dog to join our clan. As I researched puppy raising , I came across some training videos and something just clicked for me. I realized, at 36 years old, I finally knew what I wanted to be when I grew up – a dog trainer! Thus began my quest to obtain a formal dog training certification through Animal Behavior College. During my studies, I began fostering dogs for a local rescue organization. I successfully helped to train and find forever homes for several pups and continue to foster for them today. It’s a challenging and rewarding position that I love. Behavior problems are the number one reason dogs are sent to shelters and I am committed to helping owners and dogs understand each other and live harmoniously so that no one would give up on their beloved pet. My training focuses on positive rewards for desired behaviors. This is proven to be the most effective method of obtaining compliance from your pet and I can teach yo

Hello! My name is Morgan Cameron and I am an ABC certified dog trainer. I am 22, born and raised in Maine where I met my husband who plays piano in the Navy Band so our location can change anytime. We live with our rescue Border Collie mix, Alpine, who has inspired me so much in my journey to becoming a trainer. She is my first personal dog and I love her to pieces! She has taught so much about training and is the reason why I became a trainer. I have worked with many dogs in private and group lessons all using Positive Reinforcement methods. My ABC externship took place at my local shelter, PAWS, where I worked with countless dogs and have continued to train and volunteer there once my externship had ended because it’s so fun. It’s such a wonderful experience working with the shelter and trying to give these dogs a better chance at finding their forever homes. Outside of training, my other job and lifelong passion are freelance art. My paintings/drawings have a strong focus on animals which is fitting because I grew up on a farm surrounded by them and as a kid wishing I was one! I worked with mostly horses, riding and training in dressage and trail riding while growing up. When I moved away and no longer had my horses around, I took to working with dogs immediately and have loved every bit of it! I hope to grow immensely as a trainer and submerge myself into the canine community for years to come! If you have any questions for me, please feel free to email me or send me a message on my page at: www.facebook.com/MorganCameronEncourage

I am a dog trainer and animal advocate. I know from first-hand experience the difference dog training makes in the relationship between dog and owner. Without professional training assistance, it can sometimes be a frustrating experience, but with an investment in good training techniques, it can be a wonderful one! In 2005 my family went through a traumatic experience when our home caught fire and our 2 dogs were home alone at the time. Thanks to great neighbors and a quick response from the Fire Department both dogs were pulled out without injury! However after that experience, and being displaced from their home, the dogs started to develop behavior problems due to PTSD and their world being turned upside down. Through working with a trainer and going through the long process of rehabilitating my dogs I found the joy of Dog Training and wanted to show others just how enjoyable it really is! I’ve worked with MANY dogs before whose owners had varying levels of needs, and always very successfully. Having worked with dogs and their owners for many years, there is nothing which satisfies me more than to see a happy dog and a happy owner! Our programs have a few different options to choose from based on your preferences, so the best way to get all the details (including price options) is to come visit. That way you can get to know me, tell me more about your dog, and find out all the info. I hope I get the opportunity to meet you and your dog(s) real soon, but if not just remember to make sure that both you and your dog are comfortable with your Trainer because although we are called Dog Trainers our job is actually to Teach you how to Train your dog!

I can train any type and size of dog. It is never too late to teach dogs. I focus on private lessons and home visits. I train service dogs and obedience to all dogs. I am willing to drive to a bit of a distance to train your dogs. I love what I do and will train your dog on a more balanced approach with treats and praise. There is no dog I have not been able to train. A trained dog is a healthy dog both mentally and physically. I am a certified dog trainer and I am very eager to help you and your dog become more balanced and obedient.
Fredericksburg, VA
My name is Stana Fountain-Yates and my whole life I have always loved animals. When I was four my mother decided to get me my first dog for Christmas and I have always had a love for dogs. I went to Radford University for Advertising and Graphic Design and after four great years I graduated with a B.A in Communication with a Concentration in Advertising in Graphic Design. I spent a lot of time at college volunteering at my local animal shelter. It would just break my heart to see the hundreds of dogs come in. To some these dogs were dumped like trash and not worth keeping, to me they were just different souls with different stories to tell about them. I have been working with Bully Paws for six years now as as foster parent, event coordinator, and the medical coordinator for the rescue. I bring dogs into my home and with lots of love, training, and socialization I manage to find them homes. I have successfully found homes for over 40 dogs. I’ve dealt with strays, abandoned dogs, sick dogs, puppies, dogs with disabilities, etc. All dog have had different personalities and all with different back stories. The bottom line is they all needed help. Don’t get me wrong I love pit bulls (if you couldn’t tell) but I’m an animal lover and I love all dog and animals in general. I’m a DOG PERSON!
