The idea of this company got started 10 years ago as June Schnabl sat for long hours at rehab facilities and the occasional hospital with friends and family. Not only was the boredom overwhelming the morale she encountered from the patients was very low. She started asking questions about the absence of K9 companions in the facilities. To her dismay, she learned that there are just not enough volunteers to make a daily impact. It was at that point that June started researching and decided to enlist the help of her best friend, Pooch. Pooch was a 7 year old whippet that entered into this training program with some hesitance. June and Pooch successfully completed the training programs and the once hesitant Pooch, was excited to put on his vest, and go to work. I am an Alumni of Animal Behavior College, where I completed all the requirements to become a Certified Dog Trainer. I avidly pursue ongoing continuing education and professional development by attending several seminars per year and keeping current on all industry’s training techniques and literature. When not helping clients to enjoy easier lives with their canine companions, I volunteer for a guide dog organization based in Southern Florida as a puppy raiser where I have been raising and training puppies for them since 2015. For those of you wondering what made me decide to become a dog trainer, here it goes… It is a given that I have had a love and special bond with dogs since I was a little boy. But it was more so the events later in life that confirmed my calling. I worked as a Vet Tech for over 12 years. Although I enjoyed my role dearly, there was still something missing. The medical side just did not feel like I was where I was supposed to be. In 2015 one of my beagles passed away, I was left with only one dog and my home felt incomplete. I had always wanted to volunteer raising puppies to become service dogs, so I started researching non-profit organizations. I soon found one located in Southern Florida. Their business ethics and reputation stood out among all the others I had looked at. I attended my first meeting and was hooked. Training dogs was what makes me feel complete. It was my calling.

Loving Home Pet Services Life is so wonderful when you have a job that you really love. You can hardly even call it “work”. I feel that working with dogs in any capacity is very exciting, but dog training is especially rewarding. I know that teaching obedience not only strengthens the bond between owner and dog but may save the life of many others by keeping them out of shelters due to behavior issues. This is my true goal. My 12 yr. old Labrador retriever, “Summer Rain” and I are the proud owners of Loving Home Pet Services located in Katy/West Houston. I’m a mother of two young girls balancing an extreme love for dogs. I started Simply Smart Canines after graduating from ABC and have loved every minute of it. I specialize in Canine Good Citizen training and am currently working on learning more about training therapy dogs.

I am currently available for private lessons. Including basic obedience, problem solving and behavior modification.

I started my life on a ranch and have always had a deep love for animals. After a long career as a CPA, I made the decision in 2017 to launch a new career working with animals full time. Once I made the decision to do work with animals full time, I founded Wishes and Wags. I offer dog obedience training and pet sitting. The two services go hand in hand many times. Changing careers was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I LOVE MY JOB! I am all about the dog and relationship building. I also love helping pet parents understand behaviors and problem solve. I have always had a passion for animal rescues. I have a very handsome 10 year old German Shepherd that I adopted from a Rescue. I also have a beautiful 11 year old Black Lab. I rescued my Lab from the trunk of a car when she was just a few weeks old. For 15 years, I also had a handsome cat that was born under a house. A neighbor brought the kitten to me when it was only a few days old. I did not think Mr. Bean would survive but he did and lived a wonderful life with my daughter and I.
