Kathryn Butts specializes in nosework training in the Austin area. Her classes are fun, positive, and always focused on developing a strong working relationship between the dog and handler. Jen has been training dogs (and cats!) for over 20 years through both private training businesses and shelter/rescue organizations. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, a certified TTouch Practitioner I, a Canine Nutritionist, and a Pet Professional Guild Canine Training Professional. Jen holds several certificates in ethology, animal learning, and behavior from the Ethology Institute. Jen loves all things animal behavior and has raised litters of foster puppies, helped her own dog Jules (initially her foster puppy) survive distemper and go on to thrive, and keeps a household of canine and feline companions living together in harmony and even sharing some pretty darn adorable training sessions! Jen is currently bringing all that puppy rearing experience to Dog Possible’s PupStarts puppy class program, focusing on helping puppies and their people build the foundation skills they need to grow into happy, healthy adult dogs. Supermoon Dog Training & Enrichment brings approachable positive reinforcement dog training & behavior modification to the Austin area with a compassionate, grounded, and science-focused approach. I primarily offer private, in-home training that meets dogs and families where they are and takes them to where they'd like to be. Miranda is the Founder and Executive Director for Every Dog Behavior and Training. Every Dog is a nonprofit dedicated to providing inclusive, accessible dog training and behavior resources to the Austin, TX community (and beyond!). Every Dog provides group classes and private training on everything from puppies to aggression. They provide financial aid, free webinars, and other free resources to help ensure that dog training and behavior support is available to everyone. Flourish and Barks Dog Training focuses on basic obedience and reactivity behavior modification using positive reinforcement, offering private lessons, day training, and board-and-trains. Training takes place either at home or in real-world environments where the training goals can be met.

Through one-on-one dog training and day training programs, Koinonia Dogs empowers owners to turn their busy puppies, out of control adolescents, and sweet but struggling adults into well-behaved dogs who choose good behavior. By teaching both ends of the leash, Koinonia creates owners who know how to get the behavior they want and dogs who know how to listen.

Melody Lamis works for Austin Pets Alive! which is a non-profit rescue organization in Austin, Texas. APA! helps the city of Austin achieve it's No-Kill status by pulling medical and behavior animals from the municipal shelter. Melody has been on the Dog Behavior Team at Austin Pets Alive! since September 2018. Melody uses her knowledge and skills to help shelter dogs, rescues and their humans to help get dogs into homes, prevent returns, and most importantly avoid the unnecessary euthanasia of shelter dogs. Melody strives to continue her education to become a better trainer and save more dogs.

Anthony Carlin is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and is a member of APDT (Association for Professional Dog Training Int’l). His natural connection with dogs inspired him to become a professional dog trainer. His primary focus is to improve the connection between a dog and their owners, so their relationship lasts a lifetime. As a father, he is passionate about helping families with young children understand, connect, and thrive with their dogs! Anthony began his dog training education through the CATCH Canine Trainers Academy. Through that program, he was connected with Hearts and Paws. Under the mentorship of Diana Smith and her 30 years experience, he has absorbed a wealth of knowledge and learned from every opportunity working with dogs of various breed, age, and size. His true strength lies in clear communication with our clients and with their dogs. Anthony teaches our Puppy Start, Basic Companion, and Lure Coursing classes. He trains our SuperDog Camp participants, our daycare and train clients, and is an AKC CGC Evaluator. He teaches private lessons at clients’ homes and in the Training Gym at our facility. Recently, Anthony was hired as the Therapy Dog Trainer for the Austin State Hospital which gives the staff a new way of connecting with their patients through dogs. He is also active in the Therapy Dog training for Divine Canines in Austin. Anthony is currently in the process of obtaining additional instructor certifications to further his reach of influence. In his free time, Anthony sings and plays bass throughout Texas, is a huge San Antonio Spurs fan, and visits local breweries around Austin. He has two beautiful daughters, Elena and Mireya, who are becoming great dog trainers themselves! Anthony loves working with his dogs, Ryder and Wilder. Ryder obtained his CGC and Novice Trick titles and takes Nose Work, Agility, and Lure Coursing classes. Wilder is working towards his CGC and is enrolled in Agility and Lure Coursing classes.

Jeannette graduated from Animal Behavior College in 2007. Since that time she has spent her time training at a large training and boarding facility in Austin, TX and expanding her knowledge with continued education opportunities. She is a certified fear free trainer and groomer.

Fun-loving and energetic, Lindsay has always had a strong connection with nature and is dedicated to helping others improve and maintain a healthy relationship with their dogs. With 5 years experience, she is a strong believer that any animal can be trained with motivation, love, and patience. An avid vegan and lover of Earth, Lindsay wishes to make a positive impact, one paw at a time.

I am a graduate that has always loved dogs and I have now learned the proper training methods. My ultimate goal is to open a rescue for all dogs with a no kill policy and to become an evaluator for the AKC CGC program.I currently volunteer at APA and this just adds more tools into my toolbox.

I live in north Austin with my two Australian Shepherds, husband and baby. I’ve had dogs my whole life and can’t imagine a life without dogs. I’ve trained and competed multiple dogs at the highest levels of Agility and I’ve also trained in competitive obedience, herding and other spots. My passion is to create happy working relationships between people and their dogs.

My name is Christopher Jaramillo, I am a small-town guy that loves dogs with big personalities. I received my education in animal behavior and dog training though animal behavior College in 2017 and interned at Dogworx Academy under Jessy Gabriel and Rob Dunn in 2019 for a period of time. I use a balanced training curriculum utilizing the four quadrants of operant conditioning to maximize our four-legged friends’ education. I have 2 dogs; a toy poodle named Critter, I rescued him from the streets in San Diego California where I found him roaming the streets with matted fur, I also Have a German Shepherd named Kobe, he’s my star boy and has taken to training and obedience beautifully.
