I have been working with dogs almost my whole life. I have trained my dogs to be family pets, using various strategies available at that time. About 3 years ago I volunteered with the Puppy Jake Foundation, becoming a Foster for puppy Clarence. Clarence graduated 15 months later, and started another puppy, Ray, shortly after. The Puppy Jake Foundation uses positive reinforcement, allowing the dog to make choices. Light bulb moment. I took the dog trainer class offered by ABC to help me become a better foster and trainer.
