I'm a Positive reinforcement trainer, but, I trained my first dog in the 70's using aversive tools. I do NOT use aversive tools such as shock, prong, or choke collars, no force or intimidation techniques anymore, we're in the 21st century not the 70's. I help you work with your dog, try and understand and bond with them, and live in a mutually beneficial relationship. I'm an Accredited Area Trainer, mentor, at the North Sacramento Ca. PetSmart at Truxel Rd and I-80. I can start pups at 10 weeks old with 1 set of puppy shots from a vet; this helps start the critical socialization (Critical stage: 3-4 wks to 16 weeks old) all dogs need to try & become a well-rounded individual, trying to avoid fear, shyness and aggression that may happen in their development if not exposed to 100's of people/dogs & things. during the critical socialization stage. We also have a beginner class for dogs over 5 months old. We teach basic manners that all dogs should have to be a good dog in the community, & in your home. I'm also an approved AKC CGC evaluator if you'd like to achieve this award with your dog. We have 3 levels of manners, + a 1 hour, pet parents only, Potty training seminar, that can help you before you even get your dog, we do private 1 on 1 classes, and a trick & now Brain Games class to go further and have fun with your dog. We do not work with aggression, or work with separation anxiety cases, but I do have referrals to local qualified trainers, that do, if you have this issue. Ace's Pace was born out of the love for a rambunctious, goofy German Shepard/Husky mix with big feelings who taught me how to truly listen to the dogs in my life and to take things at their pace. Ace taught me not only what it feels like to be a reactive dog parent but how to foster a relationship that accommodates to both the needs of the people and the dogs.​At Ace's Pace, our aim is to provide real solutions to the most common challenges that pet parents face. I am a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CBCC-KA), an Honors Graduate of the Academy for Dog Trainers (CTC), and a Fear Free Certified Training Professional. I currently offer private training sessions and behavior consultations in the Greater Sacramento Region. I work with clients on a variety issues of issues ranging from new puppy training to more complex behavioral issues. I specialize in working with fear, reactivity, aggression, and separation anxiety. My training is force free (positive reinforcement) and I do not use tools that scare or cause pain in dogs.
